Job Description

The position is for a Sports Writing Internship at EnforceTheSport. It is a remote, unpaid, part-time internship with a duration of three months, subject to a possible three-month extension. The start date is dependent on when the contract is signed.

Position Overview:
The role targets a motivated and enthusiastic Sports Writing Intern. The primary responsibility involves writing 2-4 articles per week on a variety of sports topics that align with the intern’s interests. This internship offers a significant opportunity to gain hands-on experience in sports writing and contribute to high-quality content across multiple platforms. Interns will cover a wide range of content, including game previews, game recaps, game takeaways, news pieces, trending sports stories, and live event coverage. While the role offers flexibility due to its remote nature, interns are expected to meet deadlines consistently.

Responsibilities:

• Content Creation: Write 2-4 articles per week, ensuring coverage of at least two or more sports.
• Quality & Timeliness: Produce content that is timely, accurate, and engaging, encompassing game previews, recaps, player profiles, and analysis of ongoing sports events.
• Research: Research trending topics in sports to develop new story ideas.
• Collaboration: Work closely with the editorial team to refine and improve articles.
• Social Media Engagement: Assist in sharing articles on social media platforms to engage with the audience.
• Industry Awareness: Stay informed about the latest sports news, statistics, and developments across various sports leagues.
• Editing: Edit and proofread content for clarity, consistency, and accuracy.

Requirements:

• Passion: Strong passion for sports and sports journalism.
• Writing Skills: Excellent writing, editing, and communication skills are essential.
• Deadline Management: Ability to write quickly and accurately under tight deadlines.
• Research Skills: Strong research and fact-checking abilities.
• Social Media Acumen: Familiarity with social media platforms and an understanding of how to engage sports fans online.
• Self-Starter: A self-starter who can manage their workload independently and maintain organization.
• Prior Experience (Plus): Previous writing experience (e.g., personal blog, school publications) is a plus, but not strictly required.

Preferred Skills:

• Familiarity with multiple sports.

• Basic knowledge of SEO (Search Engine Optimization) for online writing and publishing.
