Job Description (Intern)
Role: Intern
Internship Duration: 1 year
Weekly Commitment: 10 hours per week
Supervision and Meetings:
• Bi-weekly, 30-minute 1-1 supervision with a department leader.
• Bi-weekly, 1-hour content and marketing team meetings.
Core Duties and Responsibilities:
• Assisting with social media marketing efforts.
• Conducting instructor outreach initiatives.
• Supporting email campaign marketing.
• Performing market research activities.
• Managing CRM (Customer Relationship Management).
• Executing graphic design tasks using Canva.
• Completing assigned projects designed to enhance personal portfolio, with outcomes integrated into semester’s marketing campaigns (email, social media, and mailout).
• Developing team-based communication and time-management skills.
• Utilizing industry-specific programs, software, and apps such as Zoho (including CRM, Social, Forms, Surveys, Campaigns), Canva, Excel, and Microsoft Word.
• Posting and engaging with leads on social media platforms including LinkedIn, Instagram, Pinterest, X, and YouTube.
• Improving digital literacy skills by focusing on grammar, composition, and typing efficiency, as well as producing quality text, images, audio, and designs using technology.
• Actively participating in personalized goal setting to meet professional objectives and growth outcomes, both individually and as part of a team.
• Learning and utilizing various Zoho products.
• Conducting market and lead research within assigned territories for the sales and marketing team.
• Collaborating with the content team on market research to identify trends in the education field and design tailored marketing campaigns that address institutional changes and needs.
Preferred Candidate Profile:
• Students who have completed coursework in Communications, Sales, Marketing, Graphic Design, Business, Advertising, Sociology, or other related academic areas.
Internship Compensation and Support:
• Internships are unpaid.
• UITAC Publishing will collaborate with students applying for university or outside financial aid for internship grants and stipends.
• For students seeking course internship credit, UITAC Publishing will work with them to complete the required forms for departmental approval.
