Job Description, Detailed

This is an internship program designed for flexible, outgoing, and organized individuals. As an intern, you will gain hands-on experience in event marketing and corporate sponsorships, learn from experienced staff, and contribute to significant highway safety initiatives.

Key Learning Opportunities and Activities:
• Learn about the ins and outs of event marketing and corporate sponsorships.
• Assist with the management of sponsorship campaigns.
• Meet and listen to established professionals in highway safety.
• Travel across the country to a variety of events, including fairs, festivals, motorcycle rallies, racetracks, college sports, and the Choices Matter Program.

Core Responsibilities:
Event Staffing and Coordination: Staffing events and fulfilling scheduled metrics, which will include weekdays, weekends, and some holidays.
Travel Management: Planning, booking, and coordinating all necessary travel arrangements for events.
Venue and Partner Relations: Contacting and collaborating with venue coordinators, school leadership, college career centers, and sponsorship partners.
Marketing Research and Data Collection: Researching effective marketing tools and collecting essential program data.
On-site Marketing: Traveling to events to effectively market highway safety campaigns and engage with attendees and fans.
Reporting and Communication: Reporting and communicating regularly with managers to maximize the impact of highway safety programs.
Post-Event Documentation: Preparing professional recaps of each event for clients.
Content Capture: Capturing photographs of marketing activations and engagement at events.
Sponsorship Compliance: Ensuring that each venue meets all sponsorship requirements, including signs, PA announcements, video commercials, and print advertisements.
Inventory Management: Managing inventory for both the office and off-site storage locations.
Strategic Input: Engaging in “team-think” and brainstorming sessions to enhance the effectiveness of sponsorship activations.
Creative Project Creation (Optional): Creating projects using Adobe Photoshop, Adobe Illustrator, and Canva.
Ad Hoc Tasks: Performing other tasks as assigned to support program goals.

Qualifications/Requirements:
Travel Availability: Must be able to travel extensively (75% of the time).
Organizational Skills: Well-organized.
Communication Skills: Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Technical Proficiency: Knowledge of Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint). Preferred experience with Teams Application and HubSpot.
Efficiency: Ability to multitask and effectively manage time.
Adaptability: Ability to stay flexible and adaptable to changing circumstances.
Work Ethic: A self-starter with a positive attitude.
Interpersonal Skills: Strong interpersonal skills that complement a proactive, solution-driven, and team-oriented work ethic.
Work Hours: Ability to work untraditional hours, including weekends, evenings, and some holidays.
Physical Requirement: Ability to lift a minimum of 50 lbs. as needed.

Education/Experience:
Current Students: College Juniors / Seniors who require an academic credit internship.
Recent Graduates: Individuals who have recently graduated and are seeking experience in marketing, event management, and operations.

Duration of Internship:
• August – December 2025

Pay:
• Stipend Based
