Job Description, Detailed

Job Title: Social Work Practicum Student

Job Summary: The Social Work Practicum Student will be instrumental in developing their social work skills. This is achieved by taking on key projects and responsibilities within College Church’s primary direct service program, the State ID and Birth Certificate (Outreach) Program.

Working Conditions:
Hours: An average of 15 hours of work per week is required, spanning the Fall 2025 and Spring 2026 semesters.
Flexibility: Work hours and days are negotiable, with the specific exception of Tuesdays from 8 am to 12 pm, which is when the Outreach Program operates.
Tools: The role requires computer use, specifically with a Macbook or PC laptop, and proficiency with the Google Drive suite (including Docs, Sheets, Voice, Forms, Slides) and Airtable.

Job Responsibilities:
Direct Program Support:
• Building clinical skills through direct interaction with community members, referred to as “guests.”
Assisting guests in obtaining their Missouri State IDs and birth certificates from any state.
Organizing and implementing additional ID and birth certificate clinic opportunities beyond the weekly Tuesday program.
Program Guest Survey Administration:
Designing, implementing, and analyzing the results of surveys intended to gather feedback from program beneficiaries.
Developing additional methods for receiving feedback from guests.
Research and Data Management:
Conducting research on policies and practices that impact program guests.
Developing recommendations for program practices based on research findings.
Analyzing existing program data to understand the program’s impact.
Developing new methods for measuring program impact and learning from guest experiences.
Coalition Building with the Missouri State ID Access Coalition:
Participating in the activities of a growing statewide coalition.
Collaborating with direct service and advocacy organizations across Missouri.
Engaging with one or more committees of the coalition, which may include opportunities for legislative research and advocacy, providing training and support for direct programming statewide, and/or membership engagement.

Job Requirements:
Education: Must be enrolled in a School of Social Work Master or Bachelor Program and maintain good academic standing.
Alignment: A strong desire to work in a parish setting.
Skills: Possess strong organizational and communication skills.
