Job description:
Finn Partners is offering a full-time, paid Public Relations Internship with their Education Team for the Fall 2025. This 12-week program runs from late August through mid-December, with flexible start and end dates to accommodate academic calendars. Interns are expected to work a minimum of 15 hours per week, Monday through Friday, between 8:30 a.m. and 5 p.m., with flexibility for course schedules. The role offers a flexible working environment, with options for fully remote or hybrid work within U.S. offices. Internships can be used for course credit if required.
The Education PR Intern will support organizations involved in education, policy, philanthropy, and business. Responsibilities include:
• Supporting client engagements and learning account management.
• Writing content: researching and producing strong written content.
• Engaging the media: developing and pitching story ideas.
• Supporting social media content development, community engagement, and campaign management.
• Curating media reports and analyses.
Key Responsibilities:
• Monitoring and compiling media clips.
• Researching client issues and developing landscape analysis, media insights, and thought leadership opportunities.
• Drafting materials like press releases, advisories, articles, and briefing documents.
• Supporting media relations (media lists, pitches, interview prep).
• Supporting monthly reporting to clients on activities, KPIs, etc.
• Account management (project trackers, agendas, action items, learning about budget and forecasts).
• General account support (internal and client calls, other tasks).
• Supporting new business proposals, as requested.
Role-Specific Skills/Attributes:
• Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Google Docs, Sheets, Slides; prior experience with Meltwater, Muck Rack, Canva, a plus.
• Proficient in AP style and writing for social media.
• Strong writing and editing skills for various platforms and tones.
• Knowledge of social media tools and platforms (LinkedIn, X, Blue Sky, TikTok, Instagram, Facebook).
• Keen interest in public relations, journalism, public affairs, or communications and marketing.
• Interest and basic knowledge of the US education system (early childhood, K-12, higher education).
• Ability to maintain self-management on projects and tasks, especially in remote environments.
• Self-motivated, friendly, and eager to learn.
