Job Description
The PR Events Intern position at Porsche Cars North America, Inc. (PCNA) is a central role within the Public Relations Lifestyle & Experiential Strategy Team. This exciting internship offers the opportunity to work with high-profile automotive events and content creation.
Position Overview & Purpose:
The intern will play a central role in planning events and supporting content production aimed at media. The primary goal is to interact positively with target audiences through traditional and non-traditional coverage. Additionally, the intern will provide crucial support with budget tracking and team coordination, contributing to the overall efficiency of the Public Relations department.
Reporting Structure:
This position reports to the Spokesperson, Content and Special Projects, but is expected to interact with and assist all other members of the Public Relations team, fostering a collaborative environment.
Key Responsibilities & Tasks:
• Content Development & Execution Support:
• Assist the Spokesperson, Content and Special Projects in developing and executing editorial assets for PR’s content strategy.
• Contribute to creative campaign concepts.
• Maintain a digital library of content assets.
• Manage a project calendar for social media activity.
• Collaborate with internal stakeholders to produce social content.
• Support the production of behind-the-scenes content for projects filmed at OPD (Opel Design Center).
• Event Logistics & Experiential Activations Support:
• Assist the Spokesperson, Events and Experiential with logistics for both domestic and international media events, as well as other non-traditional experiential activations.
• Responsibilities include travel arrangements, guest registration, internal communications, finance & procurement oversight, vendor management, and other general coordination tasks.
• Departmental Coordination & Support:
• Assist the Manager, Lifestyle Communications and Experiential Strategy by coordinating day-to-day department meetings and long-term projects and activities.
• Assist with filing and tracking systems for the department, including meeting minutes, deadline reports, and workback plans.
• Assist with department finance, accounting, and procurement needs, ensuring documents are processed according to PCNA Finance Policy.
• Assist in scheduling and coordinating team planning meetings, brainstorming sessions, and content reviews.
• Prepare and format presentations, reports, and media summaries for team use.
Required Qualifications & Skills:
• Educational Background:
• A Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university is required.
• Preferable fields include English, Communications, Event Management, Journalism, Marketing, or Photography/Videography.
• Technical Proficiency:
• Excellent command of Social Media platforms including, but not limited to, TikTok, Instagram, Twitter, Facebook, YouTube, LinkedIn, WhatsApp, Reddit, and Snapchat.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, Excel, and Outlook is essential.
• Experience & Abilities:
• Event organization experience is desired, particularly involving logistics, scheduling, and budgeting.
• Ability to handle multiple assignments and deadlines simultaneously while maintaining a very high level of confidentiality.
• Strong interpersonal skills: flexible, energetic, collaborative, detail-oriented, and highly motivated.
• A strong team player who enjoys working in a multi-cultural environment.
• Capacity to work both independently and collaboratively, and is flexible with new requests.
• A self-starter and strong multitasker with a genuine interest in the automotive industry.
• Experience seeking out appropriate resources when necessary and utilizing them efficiently and intelligently.
• Ethical in all dealings, understanding the importance of integrity and compliance.
• Work Environment & Conditions:
• The position is set to a 40-hour/week structure.
• Potential for overtime due to travel or increased workload.
• Must be able to travel and occasionally work weekends and evenings.
