About The Role
This position is for a café assistant at the Groveport distribution center. A Serve Safe certification is needed and required. You will be responsible for assisting in the daily operations of the café, providing a pleasant customer experience. This includes operating the register, preparing food, cleaning, managing inventory, and other related duties.
What You’ll Do
• Customer Service: Provide a positive and pleasant experience for customers.
• Cash Handling: Operate the cash register and manage cash flow.
• Order Preparation: Pay attention to detail and presentation when preparing each order.
• Food Safety: Adhere to proper food handling, sanitation, and safety procedures.
• Ingredient Preparation: Prep & prepare ingredients by following recipes; slicing, cutting, chopping, mincing, stirring, whipping, and mixing ingredients
• Meal Preparation: Complete hot meal preparation by grilling, sautéing, roasting, frying, and broiling ingredients and assembling and refrigerating cold ingredients when necessary.
• Food Storage: Maintain proper dating, labeling, and rotation of all food items; store leftovers according to health codes.
• Menu Input: Contribute to daily, holiday, and theme menus in collaboration with the team.
• Certification: Obtain and maintain Serve Safe Certification.
• Stocking & Inventory: Assist with stocking and inventory management.
• Physical Tasks: Lift, carry, push, pull, reach, grasp, bend, and stack cartons, while standing or walking for up to 12 hours at a time. Associates may be required to lift, carry, push and pull up to 50 lbs. (range may vary based on work assignment).
• Scheduling: Ability to work a schedule that includes nights, weekends, and holidays, and overtime when needed.
• Problem Solving: Use basic information-gathering skills to solve problems.
• Learning: Ability to learn standard operating procedures acquired through on-the-job training.
• Technology: Ability to independently complete a written test and use technology.
• General Warehouse Duties: Perform ticketing, stocking, picking, packing, counting, loading, and unloading, housekeeping and safety functions.
• Quality & Performance: Ensure consistency in the quality of work while meeting performance metrics in assigned work areas while creating a positive customer experience.
• Collaboration: Collaborate with team members through constructive feedback to support process improvements and cost reductions.
• Supervision: Works under direct supervision and follows standard operating procedures to accomplish assigned tasks.
• Flexibility: Ability to work in multiple departments as assigned while meeting performance metrics.
Who You Are

• Technology Proficiency: Ability to independently login to a computer and operate digital tablets or electronic wearable device.
• Onboarding: Ability to independently complete a self-guided orientation on the computer or digital tablet.
• Communication: For employee safety, it is necessary to have a basic level of English [or Spanish or French] written and oral proficiency to communicate with Supervisors and understand safety signage and protocols.
