Job Description:

This Part-time Food Service position, located at the Lakeland Health Care Center in Elkhorn, WI, offers an hourly wage of $16.75 – $22.68. This role provides an opportunity to grow your culinary skills in a scratch kitchen environment focused on quality.

Responsibilities:

Food Preparation: Assisting with food preparation, including pulling, transporting, labeling, dating, pre-cooking preparation, portioning, dishing, serving, and disposal of food and food-associated supplies and equipment.
Sanitation: Washing and sanitizing dishes and equipment, following food handling and sanitation procedures.
Receiving and Storage: Receiving, inspecting, and storing food and beverage-related products.
Training: Training and/or mentoring new or inexperienced kitchen staff.
Food Preparation & Serving: Preparing food items like garnishes, salads, sandwiches, and beverages for snack add-ons for household kitchenettes and core areas.
Monitoring & Distribution: Monitoring food distribution during serving and plating, ensuring appropriate portions and attractive presentation.
Customer Service: Providing customer service to residents.
Inventory & Stocking: Inventorying and stocking resident kitchen areas with required items.
Equipment Cleaning: Washing and sanitizing equipment, carts, and work areas.
Transportation: Transporting unprepared and prepared food, equipment, carts, and residents as required.
In-Service Education: Participating and/or attending all annual in-service education sessions.
Safety: Demonstrating a commitment to county safety and risk management efforts.

Qualifications:

Education: Some High School education
Experience: Zero to six months of relevant prior experience.
Knowledge: Basic knowledge of food safety.
Skills:
• Knowledge of service principles and processes.
• Ability to learn and follow policies and procedures.
• Basic math skills (addition, subtraction, multiplication, division).
• Ability to make change.
• Strong listening and communication skills.
• Ability to follow directions and multi-task.
Certifications:
• ServSafe Food Safety & Sanitation license (or ability to obtain within 6 months of hire).
• Criminal background check free of convictions of abuse or misappropriation of property in a caretaking setting.

Physical Requirements:

The job requires regular standing, walking, use of hands, reaching, talking, hearing, tasting, and smelling. The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 10 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds, and occasionally lift and/or move up to 80 pounds.
