They offer cakes, cupcakes, cookies, pies, and bars, and aim to create a nostalgic, warm, and neighborhood bakery experience. Their purpose is “Connecting through Celebration” with their team members, guests, and community.

Job Description:

SusieCakes is seeking a part-time Marketing Intern to drive community engagement and seek out local partnership opportunities in Oklahoma City. The intern will collaborate with the Marketing and Social Media team for approximately 10-20 hours per month.

Responsibilities:

• Community Engagement:
• Support marketing initiatives in Oklahoma City, including events, deliveries, and gifting.
• Research and network with local community groups (e.g., student groups, charities) to build brand awareness.
• Monitor local events and propose new engagement ideas.
• Social Media:
• Support the social media team in driving brand awareness and engagement.
• Film high-quality, on-brand content for the @susiecakesbakery Instagram and TikTok accounts.
• Identify and propose ways to leverage the latest social media trends.
• Independently produce regular video content, including concept creation, filming, and editing.
• Serve as a positive representation of the SusieCakes brand within the local community.

Qualifications:

• Must be local to Oklahoma City (within 30 minutes of the bakery) and available to work in the bakery for events and content shoots.
• Reliable transportation.
• Passion for SusieCakes and strong interest in social media.
• Significant experience using Instagram and TikTok with a deep understanding of the social media ecosystem.
• Proven history of creating engaging content (for personal or brand accounts).
• Superior verbal, written, copy editing, and proofreading skills.
• Creative and innovative personality.
• Strong attention to detail, responsible, and reliable.
• Positive representation of company values and brand identity.
• Proactive, independent worker, and effective communicator.
• Ability to connect weekly with supervisor via videoconferencing.

Bonus:

• Comfortable being on camera.
• Connections to local sororities and businesses in the Oklahoma City area.

Physical Requirements:

• Able to sit for long periods of time to research trends.
• Able to use a computer for long periods of time.
• Able to make and receive phone calls and respond to emails, chats or text messages.
• Able to walk, kneel and reach overhead.
• Able to stand for extended periods of time.
• Must be able to occasionally lift, move and carry up to 50 pounds.
• Must be able to record footage.
• Must be able to travel to bakeries close by.

Education:

• High school diploma or GED required.

Pay:

• $15 per hour.
