Job Description:

This is a Manufacturing Engineering Internship at GE Aerospace. The internship focuses on building a technical foundation in manufacturing and assembly processes, including key manufacturing, new product integration, new technology integration, continuous improvement, and cost out. It’s a potential stepping stone to GE Aerospace’s MEDP or OMLP programs after graduation.

Essential Responsibilities:

• Learn state-of-the-art manufacturing methods.
• Support manufacturing and repair processes for component hardware and/or engine assembly.
• Maintain high-quality standards via risk assessment, root cause analysis, corrective action, and statistical controls.
• Ensure safe work conditions through Environmental, Health & Safety (EHS) initiatives.
• Apply Lean and Six Sigma principles to drive productivity, on-time delivery, process capability, and stable operations.
• Support delivery efforts for sourced components by working with shops and suppliers, developing project management, negotiation, and business acumen skills.

Qualifications/Requirements:

• Prior GE Aerospace internship experience required
• Minimum 3.0 cumulative G.P.A. on a 4.0 scale.
• Enrolled in a full-time bachelor’s or graduate program from a registered and nationally accredited university (specific majors listed).
• Willingness and ability to work in any of the 35+ GE Aerospace U.S. locations.
• Reliable transportation, as many sites lack public transport.
• Legal authorization to work in the U.S.

Eligibility Requirements:

• Successful completion of a background investigation and drug screen is required.
• Legal authorization to work in the U.S. is required; no sponsorship will be provided.

Desired Characteristics:

• Problem-solving skills and analytical mindset.
• Comfortable working in a fast-paced shop floor environment.
• Prior internship, co-op, or military experience in manufacturing/supply chain or engineering is a plus.
• Demonstrated commitment to community and/or university involvement.
