Job Description:
This is an Embedded Controls Software Intern position with Komatsu, based in their Warrendale, PA office. The intern will be part of a team developing core Embedded Control, Human Machine Interface, and Data Management software for underground mining applications.
The intern will contribute to the development of core embedded software for products that operate globally, specifically for underground machines such as continuous miners and long walls. The internship focuses on enhancing skills in:
• Real-time embedded open loop and closed loop machine control using hydraulic and electrical actuators and various position sensors.
• Working with real-time operating systems such as VxWorks, Windows Embedded, and Linux.
• Familiarity with various development and test environments including bench testing, 3D simulation, and factory floor testing on actual machinery.
Requirements:
• Currently pursuing a Bachelor of Science Degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or Software Engineering.
• OR Currently pursuing a Master of Science degree in Control Systems Development, Electrical Engineering, or Computer Engineering.
• Proven strengths in embedded and networked systems and software development.
• Strong programming skills in C and Java.
