About the job:

This is a Campus Recreation Internship Program at the A. D. Albright Health Center. It’s designed for undergraduate students and runs for two semesters (Fall & Spring) with no summer option. Interns are paid $10/hour for up to 10.5 hours a week (depending on internship credit hours).

Job Description:

The Facility Operations & Management Intern will assist the Facility team in overseeing the Campus Recreation Center and Facility Staff. Key responsibilities include:

Facility Operations:

• Generating work orders to improve the center’s structure.
• Leading daily operation procedures with facility staff.
• Maintaining Facilities Equipment and Inventory including Storage areas.
• Creating end-of-shift reports.
• Assisting with setup/teardown of daily and special event programs.
• Assisting with safety monitoring of recreational areas.
• Cleaning and maintaining recreational equipment.
• Assisting with leading staff meetings.
• Obtaining CPR certification.
• Other duties as assigned.
Facility Management:

• Communicating issues and best practices within established policies.
• Training staff on daily tasks.
• Working with Facility Managers to ensure daily goals are met.
• Filing daily staff reports.
• Aiding in creating new training procedures.
• Assisting with administrative office staff duties.
• Creating Concept2 reports (incident, facilities, and accident).
• Other duties as assigned.
Email Communications:

• Creating and sending bi-weekly emails to Campus Recreation Staff.
• Anticipating upcoming events, including news, university updates, and weather updates.
• Reviewing daily reports (incident, facilities, and accident).

Qualifications:

• Must have excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Must be responsible and reliable.
• Must have creative ideas in programs and services to numerous different demographics.
• Experience in Google Docs, Microsoft Office, and GroupMe.
Attention to detail.
• Great time management skills.
• Ability to work independently.
