Job Description:
This is an assistant position supporting the divisional occupational health coordinator. The role involves a variety of tasks related to employee health, safety, and compliance. The candidate will be responsible for the following:
• Site Audits: Conduct site audits to identify potential health and safety hazards.
• Deficiency Follow-up: Follow up with management to ensure identified deficiencies are corrected.
• Compliance: Participate in compliance requests and activities pertaining to the division.
• Injury Management: Manage worker-related injuries and worker’s compensation claims.
• Medical Surveillance: Coordinate medical surveillance for all employees, including:
• Annual audiograms
• Spirometry
• Vision screening
• Lead testing
• Pre-employment Screening: Coordinate pre-employment drug and breath alcohol screens and physicals.
• Other Projects: Handle other projects as assigned.
Requirements:
• Must be enrolled in a Bachelor’s degree program in Nursing.
• Must have completed at least their freshman year of study.
• Preferred GPA of at least 2.7.
• Must be highly organized and have a strong ability to multitask.
• Exceptional communication skills, both verbal and written.
• Strong analytical and issue identification, prioritization, and resolution skills.
• Ability to work successfully both independently and as part of a team.
• Must be able to act objectively and within the strictest environment of confidentiality.
