Job Description:
This externship at a Brady Veterinary Hospital, part of the NVA network, offers veterinary students a unique opportunity to understand the day-to-day operations of a veterinary practice and gain valuable hands-on clinical experience.
Key Responsibilities and Learning Opportunities:
• Clinical Skills: Gain experience in:
• Gathering patient histories.
• Performing physical exams.
• Creating treatment plans.
• Performing diagnostics.
• Performing dentistry services.
• Observing/assisting in or performing surgical procedures.
• Medical management of patients.
• Collaboration and Communication:
• Work closely with supervising Associate Veterinarians.
• Practice communication skills with the medical team, support staff, and clients.
Program Details:
• Duration: Externship experiences at Brady Veterinary Hospital typically range from two to eight weeks, depending on student and hospital schedules.
• Eligibility: All veterinary students, regardless of their year in the program, are encouraged to apply.
