Job Description: Field Technician Internship (IoT & AgTech)

This is a hands-on internship position suitable for someone who enjoys outdoor work, technical problem-solving, and contributing to sustainability through technology. The Field Technician Intern will be responsible for assisting with the deployment, maintenance, and troubleshooting of IoT systems in real-world agricultural environments.

Key Responsibilities:

Installation: Install IoT hardware, sensors, and communication devices (e.g., Wi-Fi, LoRa, cellular) at customer sites (vineyards, orchards, etc.).
Configuration: Assist in configuring software for data monitoring and automation systems.
Maintenance & Troubleshooting: Perform routine maintenance, diagnostics, and basic troubleshooting of IoT systems in the field.
Documentation: Document installation steps and service notes for internal tracking and customer use.
Customer Support: Support growers by customizing solutions to meet specific farm needs.
Travel: Travel to vineyards, orchards, and other agricultural locations throughout Northern California for deployments and service calls.

Requirements:

• Basic knowledge of electronics, sensors, or networking (e.g., Wi-Fi, LoRa, cellular).
• Experience or coursework in agriculture, engineering, environmental science, or AgTech is preferred.
• Comfortable working independently outdoors and lifting up to 50 lbs.
• Practical problem-solver with strong communication and observational skills.
• Reliable transportation and a valid driver’s license.
• Willingness to travel as needed for field deployments and service calls.

Internship Details:

Schedule: Approximately 15 hours per week, with flexibility based on academic and project schedules.
Location: Field-based in Napa Valley and surrounding Northern California areas.
Compensation: $22 per hour.
