Job Description
This is a Summer Internship Program with NBCUniversal Telemundo in Sacramento, CA, running from July 2025 – August 2025. Interns will gain experience in news production and contribute to the creation of newscast content.
• Key Responsibilities:
• Select, assign, write, and organize news stories.
• Write headlines, teases, and reporter lead-ins.
• Write new scripts, promotional teasers, headlines, and topicals.
• Contribute story ideas and participate in daily coverage decisions and editorial meetings.
• Assist in the overall production, content, and elements of each newscast.
• Collaborate with news producers, managers, and photographers to conceptualize, write, edit, and produce Telemundo news specials and packages.
• Communicate with news producers, assignment editors, and managers regarding local story development, progress in the field, and breaking news stories.
• Qualifications:
• Must be pursuing an Associate, Bachelor, or Graduate degree at an accredited institution.
• Current class standing of sophomore or above (30 credits).
• Must be available to work at least 30 hours per week.
• Must be bilingual in Spanish (written and verbal fluency).
• Must be 18 years of age or older.
• Must be authorized to work in the United States without visa sponsorship.
• Need to be able to work on-site in Sacramento, CA.
• Desired Qualifications:
• Previous internship experience or on-campus involvement.
• Ability to work effectively in a high-intensity environment under tight deadlines.
• Strong written and oral communication skills.
• Attention to detail and strong organizational skills.
• Strong interest in and demonstrated knowledge of current affairs.
• Excellent computer skills (especially search skills).
• Compensation: $17 per hour
