Job Description: IT Intern

5 Points is seeking a motivated IT Intern to join their team. This internship offers a unique opportunity to gain real-world IT experience, grow alongside a dynamic team, and make an impact on the technology that powers their business.

Key Responsibilities:

Technical Support:
• Provide Tier 1 and Tier 2 help desk support for hardware, software, and network-related issues.
• Set up, configure, and troubleshoot workstations, mobile devices, printers, and other peripherals.
• Maintain and administer user accounts, permissions, and access rights (Active Directory, Microsoft 365, etc.).
• Research industry-specific software to better support operations.
• Document processes, standard operating procedures (SOPs), and knowledge base.
Network Management:
• Support LAN/WAN infrastructure, wireless networks, and internet connectivity.
• Troubleshoot connectivity and performance issues.
• Collaborate with vendors for equipment procurement, installation, or troubleshooting.
• Communicate with Business and Technical Support regarding account issues.
Software Management:
• Install, update, and support business applications (e.g., Office 365, productivity tools, industry-specific software).
• License tracking and compliance.
• Perform audits on performance and usage.

Qualifications:

Required:
• Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field.
• Working knowledge of Windows OS, Microsoft 365, and networking fundamentals.
• Experience with help desk systems and ticketing platforms (e.g., Zendesk, Jira Service Desk).
Preferred:
• Experience with virtualization (VMware, Hyper-V).
• Exposure to cloud services (Azure, AWS, Google Workspace).
• Relevant certifications (CompTIA A+/Network+/Security+, MCSA, etc.).

Soft Skills:

• Excellent troubleshooting and analytical skills.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to manage time efficiently and work independently or collaboratively.
• Willingness to learn and adapt in a fast-paced environment.

Work Environment:

• 100% on-site position in Norcross, GA.
• Ability to lift equipment overhead and perform minor physical tasks related to IT.

Contract Term:

• 3-month contract with the possibility of contract extension and/or full-time hire.
