Job Description:
PCG is offering a summer internship program for motivated college students with a strong work ethic. The program provides interns with essential tools and resources to gain comprehensive insight into the specialty construction industry. Interns receive close mentorship and hands-on activities, developing a solid foundation in construction management.
Key Aspects of the Internship:
• Mentorship: Each intern is paired with a dedicated mentor within their assigned branch.
• Structured Framework: The Performance Contracting Intern Activities Checklist guides interns through various disciplines within the branch.
• Weekly Project Recaps: Interns submit weekly reports detailing activities, collaborations, and key takeaways.
• Exposure to Key Tasks: Includes learning proposal writing, bid analysis, project scheduling, pre-bid walk-throughs, project labor control, material handling, job-cost analysis, subcontractor management, interaction with owners/architects/engineers, quantity take-offs, project documentation, financial job cost analysis, safety program administration, and specialized equipment utilization.
Compensation and Benefits:
• Hourly wage: $25 an hour.

Requirements:
• Currently enrolled undergraduate student seeking a degree in Construction Management, Construction Engineering, or a comparable field.
• Reliable transportation.
• Willingness to relocate for the assignment.
• Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word).
• Understanding of specifications and drawings.
• Strong oral and written communication skills.
• Ability to work in a team environment.
• Ability to learn new skills.
• Customer service skills.
• Critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to multitask.
Preferred Requirements:
• Baseline construction knowledge from relevant experience or completion of a second-year construction management/engineering curriculum.
• Basic knowledge of BlueBeam, AutoCAD, and/or OnScreen Takeoff.
