Job Description: Route Trainee
UniFirst is seeking a customer-focused and driven Route Trainee to support their Service Department. This role serves as a training ground for individuals looking to establish a career in Route Service, with the potential to advance into a commissioned Route Service Representative position.
Responsibilities:
• Supporting Route Service Representatives with loading and unloading trucks.
• Delivering and picking up customer products.
• Maintaining vehicle safety and cleanliness.
• Covering assigned routes when needed, driving a company vehicle to and from customer stops.
• Servicing customers in a professional manner, using effective communication skills to resolve issues.
• Ensuring accurate invoice inventories.
• Performing inventory audits.
• Maintaining route vehicle reports, safety inspections, and general appearance.
• Attending daily account collections with the Route Service Manager and assisting with Account Receivable collections.
Key Aspects of the Role:
• Physical: The role involves lifting up to 50 pounds and is performed both indoors and outdoors.
• Dynamic: The daily work is not monotonous, with different customer interactions and tasks.
• Daytime Hours: Routes are serviced Monday through Friday during daytime hours.
