Job Description:
This position is for a Center Teaching Staff member at Catalyst. The role involves supporting the planning and implementation of the center’s program for children ranging from toddlers to school-age, depending on the specific site.
Key Responsibilities:
• Curriculum Development & Implementation: Create and implement developmentally appropriate curriculum connected to children’s interests and learning frameworks.
• Child Safety & Wellbeing: Ensure children’s health and safety through supervision, positive interactions, and compliance with safety guidelines.
• Learning Environment: Create intentional and supportive learning environments.
• Customer Service: Establish authentic and reciprocal relationships with children, families, schools, and the community.
• Collaboration: Work collaboratively with colleagues to provide high-quality programs and a positive work environment.

Physical & Environmental Demands:

• Lifting up to 15 lbs.
• Working indoors and outdoors in various weather conditions.
• Traversing different terrains and heights.
• Adapting to the physical level of children.
• Supervising field trips.
Qualifications:
• Education:
• 24 units in child development, early childhood development, or a related field, plus 16 general education units.
• AA degree in ECE, CD, or a related field from a nationally accredited college.
• BA degree in ECE, CD, or a related field from a nationally accredited college/university.
• Teacher or above Child Development Permit issued by the California Commission on Teacher Credentialing.
• Experience & Skills:
• 2 years of experience in a group care environment preferred.
• 1 year of experience supervising adults or equivalent Adult Supervision units preferred.
• Effective problem-solving, conflict resolution, classroom management, and communication skills.
• Effective organization, time management, curriculum, and assessment documentation skills.
• Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
• Current adult and infant/child CPR/First Aid certification preferred.
• Bilingual/Multilingual language preference based on center needs.
Additional Information:
• Shift Type: Full Time
• Schedule: Monday – Friday, 6:30 am – 3:30 pm
• Compensation: $18.76 – $28.13 hourly
