Job Description:
The position advertised is for a Lead Great Start Readiness Program (GSRP) Teacher. GSRP is Michigan’s state-funded Pre-K program for 4-year-old children. The Lead GSRP Teacher is responsible for planning, assessing, and instructing 4-year-olds based on individual needs and the GSRP grant requirements.
Key responsibilities of the Lead GSRP Teacher include:
• Planning and implementing daily lessons using the approved GSRP curriculum.
• Conducting child observations and assessments using approved tools.
• Collaborating with the associate teacher and classroom team to ensure high-quality instruction and classroom management.
• Developing Individual Development Plans (IDPs) for each child and leading parent-teacher conferences.
• Ensuring compliance with GSRP standards, licensing rules, and program quality expectations.
• Participating in required professional development and coaching.
• Communicating effectively with families, colleagues, and community partners.
The ideal candidate should possess:
• A Bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood Education, Child Development, Elementary Education, or a valid teaching certificate with ZA/ZS endorsement.
• Experience leading a classroom and creating educational lesson plans.
• The ability to meet state requirements for education and the childcare center’s requirements.
• The ability to work indoors or outdoors and engage in physical activity with children.
