Job Description:

The position advertised is for a Lead Great Start Readiness Program (GSRP) Teacher. GSRP is Michigan’s state-funded Pre-K program for 4-year-old children. The Lead GSRP Teacher is responsible for planning, assessing, and instructing 4-year-olds based on individual needs and the GSRP grant requirements.

Key responsibilities of the Lead GSRP Teacher include:

Planning and implementing daily lessons using the approved GSRP curriculum.
Conducting child observations and assessments using approved tools.
Collaborating with the associate teacher and classroom team to ensure high-quality instruction and classroom management.
Developing Individual Development Plans (IDPs) for each child and leading parent-teacher conferences.
Ensuring compliance with GSRP standards, licensing rules, and program quality expectations.
Participating in required professional development and coaching.
Communicating effectively with families, colleagues, and community partners.

The ideal candidate should possess:

• A Bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood Education, Child Development, Elementary Education, or a valid teaching certificate with ZA/ZS endorsement.
Experience leading a classroom and creating educational lesson plans.
• The ability to meet state requirements for education and the childcare center’s requirements.
• The ability to work indoors or outdoors and engage in physical activity with children.
