Westwood Professional Services, Inc. is seeking a Geotechnical Co-Op to join their dynamic geotechnical engineering team. They provide high-level professional services to clients, particularly in the renewable energy and power-related project sectors.
Job Description:
This Geotechnical Co-Op position offers the opportunity to work on various aspects of geotechnical engineering related to renewable energy and other power-related projects. The co-op will assist senior geotechnical staff and gain experience in:
• Geotechnical Site Investigations: Participating in field work and in-situ testing to gather data.
• Laboratory Testing: Assisting with the assignment and assessment of geotechnical laboratory tests.
• Data Analysis and Interpretation: Interpreting and analyzing geotechnical data to determine material properties.
• Geotechnical Analysis and Design: Completing or assisting with analyses such as seepage, slope stability, bearing capacity, rotational stiffness, liquefaction, and settlement.
• Report Preparation: Contributing to the preparation of investigation reports, construction drawings, and design reports.
• Construction Monitoring/Observation: Potential involvement in construction monitoring and observation activities.
• Project Support: Assisting with proposals, bid documents, and capital cost estimates.
The position requires the ability to travel/work in the field for extended periods and work outdoors in various weather conditions and terrains.
Compensation: $20.00 – $23.00/Hr.
