Job Description
Federated Insurance is offering a full-time, paid Claims Internship in their Overland Park, KS office. The internship will last approximately 10 weeks, with the first 2 weeks of training at the home office in Owatonna, MN. The intern will learn claims processes and procedures, develop various skills, and participate in team meetings, office events, and community volunteering.
Responsibilities include:
• Supporting Claims personnel in Auto, Liability, Property, and Workers’ Compensation offices with telephone coverage and correspondence.
• Facilitating client interactions regarding claim processing.
• Collaborating with and informing supervisors and teammates of progress and issues related to assigned work.
• Helping Federated clients by working alongside other interns and recent college graduates.
• Participating in office and team meetings and training.
• Completing a presentation outlining the internship experience to P&C Claims leadership at the conclusion of the internship.
The company is seeking:
• Current Junior academic standing in pursuit of a Business or Criminal Justice Bachelor degree
• Minimum overall GPA of 3.0
• Strong computer knowledge
• Ability to use Microsoft Excel or equivalent spreadsheet software
