About the Job
This is a Student Assistant Intern position within the Office of Information Technology Services (ITS), supporting the Human Resources team. The ideal candidate will be detail-oriented and possess strong writing and editing skills, with a background in English, Communications, or Human Resources preferred.
Job Description
The Student Assistant Intern will contribute to the HR team by:
• Proofreading and editing Human Resources documents for grammar, tone, and consistency.
• Reviewing and standardizing Human Resources templates (offer letters and memos) for accuracy and professionalism.
• Drafting clear and concise internal communications such as announcements, newsletters, and memos.
• Collaborating with HR team members to identify and resolve inconsistencies in documentation.
• Supporting other Human Resources projects as needed.
Preferred Qualifications:
• Major in English, Communications, or a related field.
• Exceptional writing, editing, and proofreading skills with a keen eye for detail.
• Strong command of grammar, style, and business-appropriate tone.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, PowerPoint, etc.).
• Ability to handle sensitive information confidentially.
Minimum Qualifications:
• Must be a US citizen or foreign national eligible to work in the United States.
• Must be 18 years of age or older.
• Must be currently attending a New York State college, university or graduate program, or be a resident of New York State attending a college, university or graduate program outside of New York State.
• Must have completed a minimum of one (1) year as a student at a degree-granting two or four-year college or university (completion of one year’s worth of academic credits over a more extended period of time may qualify part-time students) OR currently enrolled graduate student or accepted in a graduate degree program
• Must have a minimum grade point average (GPA) of 2.0 or equivalent to a C.

• The position can be part-time or full-time.
