Job Description: Claims Intern
This is a full-time, paid internship (approximately 10 weeks, with the first 2 weeks of training in Owatonna, MN). The internship provides opportunities to learn claims processes and procedures, develop skills in teamwork, customer service, communication, multi-tasking, and decision-making. Interns will participate in team meetings, office events, and community volunteering.
Responsibilities:
• Support Claims personnel in Auto, Liability, Property and Workers’ Compensation offices with telephone coverage and incoming/outgoing correspondence.
• Facilitate client interactions regarding claim processing.
• Collaborate with and inform supervisor and teammates of progress and issues.
• Work side-by-side with other interns and recent college graduates.
• Participate in office and team meetings and trainings.
• Complete a presentation outlining the internship experience for P&C Claims leadership.
Requirements/Qualifications:
• Current Junior academic standing in pursuit of a Business or Criminal Justice Bachelor degree
• Minimum overall GPA of 3.0
• Strong computer knowledge
• Ability to use Microsoft Excel or equivalent spreadsheet software
