About the Analyst Role (Detailed Job Description):
This role, an Analyst on the Insights team, focuses on providing data-driven insights to Chime’s Operational Management and eXperience (OMX) team. The primary goal is to improve the member experience and operational processes. Responsibilities include:
• Analysis & Recommendations: Creating insightful analyses to offer recommendations to business partners for product and process improvements to reduce member friction in the support process. This involves applying statistical knowledge and scientific methods (regressions, clustering, probability) to solve business problems.
• Reporting & Dashboards: Developing and maintaining reports and dashboards to effectively communicate insights and scale their impact.
• Experiment Design & Evaluation: Designing, conducting, and assessing experiments (A/B tests, difference-in-difference, pre/post, etc.) to evaluate their impact on member experience. This necessitates a strong understanding of statistical significance and business impact.
• Presentation & Communication: Presenting findings clearly and concisely to various audiences, from individual team members to senior leadership. Strong storytelling and communication skills are crucial to effectively convey complex analyses and data-driven recommendations, building consensus and influencing strategic decisions.
• Collaboration: Working cross-functionally with Support and Product teams, other analysts, subject matter experts, and decision-makers to improve the member experience. This includes proactively identifying opportunities for improvement and following through on recommendations to ensure business impact.
• Data Proficiency: Demonstrated mastery of SQL (CTEs, joins, aggregations, window functions), proficiency in Python (or R) for data manipulation and experiment analysis, and preferably experience with Looker or a similar BI tool.
Required Skills & Experience:
• Bachelor’s degree (or Master’s degree with less experience) in a quantitative field (Statistics, Data Science, Economics, Mathematics, Computer Science, or related).
• Minimum 4 years (post-internship) experience in analytics or a similar role (or 3 years with a Master’s degree).
• Strong knowledge of statistics and experience evaluating experiments for statistical significance and business impact.
• Proven ability to apply scientific methods to solve business problems.
• Experience designing, conducting, and assessing experiments.
• Strong SQL skills.
• Proficiency in Python (or R).
• Experience building presentations to communicate data-driven recommendations.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• A focus on impact and driving change within the business.
• Experience in fintech or support operations is preferred.
Compensation & Benefits:
The base salary range is $112,140 to $155,800, depending on location, skills, qualifications, and experience. Additional compensation includes a bonus, competitive equity package, and comprehensive benefits (401k match, medical, dental, vision, life, disability, generous vacation, paid parental leave, wellness stipend, etc.).
