About the Company:

The Mayor’s Office of Management and Budget (OMB) is the City government’s chief financial agency. OMB staff analyzes and oversees the Mayor’s expense and capital budgets, which fund approximately 90 City agencies and entities. The Parks unit within OMB specifically oversees the capital and expense budgets for the NYC Department of Parks and Recreation, and the expense budget for the Landmarks Preservation Commission.

Detailed Job Description:

The summer intern will focus on two key projects:

1. Expense New Need Tracker Completion: The intern will complete a previously started project—an expense new need tracker. This tracker will serve as a central repository for information regarding past new need submissions and the final decisions made on each. This will be a crucial tool for the OMB Parks team.

2. Capital Categorization Adjustment: The intern will assist in revising the internal capital categorization labels to better reflect the scope of capital projects.

The position requires proficiency in Microsoft Excel and involves both qualitative and quantitative research. The intern will work independently and need to be able to problem-solve.
