Job Description: Development Intern
This is an unpaid internship at PAWS Chicago requiring a commitment of 12-20 hours per week over a 3-6 month semester for a minimum of 100 hours. The internship is located at the organization’s office in Chicago.
Responsibilities: The Development Intern will assist PAWS Chicago staff with a variety of tasks, including:
• Supporting the employee giving/matching program.
• Assisting with merchandise processes.
• Helping with credit card reconciliations and entering gift batches.
• Processing additions, removals, and edits to constituent profiles in Raiser’s Edge (database software).
• Serving as backup for data cleanup queries.
• Providing administrative support to improve efficiency, productivity, and workflow.
Qualifications: Candidates should possess:
• A strong passion for animals and animal welfare.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills with meticulous attention to detail.
• A positive, energetic attitude and team-oriented approach.
• Exceptional organizational skills and the ability to multitask effectively.
• The ability to quickly learn about the organization’s departments and programs.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite; experience with Raiser’s Edge is a plus.
• A genuine interest in and desire to learn more about animal welfare and the No Kill movement.
