Job Description: Accounting Assistant

Job Purpose: This entry-level accounting position offers recent graduates or college students practical, on-the-job experience. The role focuses on managing the monthly closing process, applying learned accounting knowledge.

Responsibilities:

• Manage the accounts payable (A/P) process: inputting and coding vendor invoices to the correct general ledger (G/L) accounts, processing and preparing checks.
• Perform transactional entries into the general ledger.
• Balance and reconcile bank accounts.
• Reconcile selected balance sheet accounts monthly.
• Research and investigate discrepancies.
• Assist in developing and implementing efficient policies and procedures within the finance and administration departments.
• Support internal and external audit efforts.

Requirements:

Education: Completion of or enrollment in an Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Accounting is required. No certifications are necessary.
Experience: No prior experience is required.
Skills: Strong computer and Excel skills, excellent communication, strong work ethic, ability to work a flexible schedule during monthly closing.

Location: Orlando, FL (onsite position, local candidates only).

Travel: None.

Physical Requirements: Prolonged periods of sitting, typing, and working on a computer; standing, walking, lifting (up to 15 pounds), carrying, reaching, pushing, and pulling.
