Job Description: Finance Intern
This part-time internship (up to 29 hours per week) at Mariner Finance offers a starting hourly rate of $14. Benefits include a 401K with company match. The intern will report to the Branch Manager and is considered a Non-Exempt position.
Schedule: The schedule is primarily Monday through Friday, with additional Saturday hours required seasonally and as business needs dictate. Work hours will vary depending on the time zone serviced by the specific branch. The company reserves the right to adjust the work schedule as needed.
Responsibilities and Essential Duties:
• Greet customers promptly and provide assistance, directing them to appropriate staff.
• Answer telephones, provide information, and input correspondence into the system.
• Provide customer service regarding account statuses.
• Complete and file paperwork for loan closings.
• Ensure customer information accuracy in the electronic data system.
• Perform additional duties as needed to maintain quality customer service. This may depend on market demand and staffing levels.
Required Qualifications:
• Currently pursuing a degree in Business Management, Finance, Marketing, Communication, or a related field.
• Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
• Team player.
• Ability to work a minimum of 15 hours per week.
• Reliable transportation.
Preferred Qualifications:
• Junior or Senior status in a four-year degree program, or possession of a bachelor’s degree.
• Prior customer service experience.
Physical Demands:
The role involves frequent sitting, reaching, computer/phone use, and communication. Occasional movement and lifting up to 20 pounds may be required. The employee must be physically present in the office.
