Job Description: Data Science Summer Intern
AllianceBernstein is seeking a highly motivated Data Science Summer Intern for their New York, NY office. This is a full-time, on-site internship running from June through August.
Responsibilities:
The internship provides exposure to data science through projects with senior analysts and researchers. Projects may involve AI, text mining, machine learning, and other leading-edge technologies. Specific assignments will be determined in consultation with the intern.
Qualifications:
• Education: December 2025 or Spring 2026 Master’s degree candidate in financial engineering, quantitative finance, computer science, statistics, mathematics, or a related quantitative field.
• GPA: Cumulative GPA of 3.3 or better.
• Skills & Experience:
• Detail-oriented and able to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
• Ability to solve complex analytical problems and communicate solutions effectively (written and verbal).
• Proficiency in working with large datasets and identifying structures and patterns.
• Prior exposure to basic modern data science methods is required; fluency in Python is a must.
• Hands-on experience with essential Python libraries such as pandas, NumPy, and scikit-learn (sklearn) is a strong plus.
• Availability: Must be available to work full-time from June through August. Simultaneous academic classes or other employment that conflicts with the internship schedule are not permitted.
• Background Check: Successful completion of a thorough background check is required.
