Job Description: Software Engineering Intern

Badger Meter offers a Software Engineering Internship program providing hands-on experience through impactful projects. Interns participate in a robust program encompassing Badger Meter culture, professional development, community outreach, and a capstone project.

Responsibilities:

Software development and implementation of test applications.
Coding and debugging new and existing software for internal and external customers.
• Writing programs based on specifications using tools like JIRA, Git, and AWS, and languages such as Python, JavaScript, or C#.
Collaboration across departments to understand and solve software problems.
Software design, installation, configuration, and testing.
• Development and verification of project plans.
Maintenance and upgrades of existing software applications in various programming languages (Python, JavaScript, C#, React, SQL, Elasticsearch).
• Creation of reports, memos, and status updates.
• Learning new technologies quickly.
• Investigating customer issues to identify product solutions.
• Maintaining confidentiality of company intellectual property and customer information.

Qualifications:

• Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Software Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field.
• Preference given to freshmen and sophomores.
• Preference given to California residents and students.
• Work authorization required throughout the internship and after graduation (OPT, CPT, H1B, F1 students are not eligible).
• Intermediate computer/technical skills in Microsoft products.
• Programming experience in Python, React, C#, JavaScript, or other object-oriented languages.
