Job Description: Software Engineer – Platform Web
This role is a crucial part of StockX.com’s technical infrastructure, focusing on the website’s web ecosystem. As a Software Engineer on the Platform Web team, you will be responsible for:
• Building and Maintaining Foundations: You’ll contribute to the development and maintenance of StockX.com’s web architecture, including the creation of a next-generation UI library and ensuring optimal site performance for a global user base. This also involves building internal productivity tools for other engineers.
• Ownership and Decision-Making: You will have significant ownership over technology decisions and play a key role in shaping the engineering culture within a rapidly growing company.
• Best Practices and Standards: You’ll be expected to propose and implement best engineering practices, guide development standards, and foster a growth mindset within the team. Collaboration and adherence to team processes are essential.
• Development and Architecture: Your responsibilities include developing core architecture, setting up tooling and automation, adopting new best practices, and conducting code reviews. You’ll need to make sound technical judgments considering various technology options and their impact on the system.
• System Ownership and Support: You’ll take complete ownership of services within your area, including participation in system upgrades, addressing live site issues, and on-call support. Monitoring performance, collecting metrics, and debugging are vital aspects of this role.

• Proposing and adopting best engineering practices and guiding development standards.

• Applying security, scalability, reliability, and performance considerations in solution development.
• Developing core architecture, setting up tooling and automation, and adopting new best practices.
• Reviewing pull requests.
• Using sound technical judgment to evaluate technology alternatives and design trade-offs.
• Demonstrating complete ownership of services, including system upgrades and live site issue resolution.
• Collecting metrics, participating in on-call rotations, monitoring production systems, debugging issues, and responding to emergencies.
Qualifications:
• 3-5 years of relevant development experience
• Proficiency in HTML, CSS, and JavaScript (ES6), with expertise in React, TypeScript, and Node.js
• Familiarity with libraries and frameworks such as React and a strong willingness to learn new technologies.
• Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
• Strong professional experience and understanding of web development best practices (performance optimization, internationalization, localization).
• Experience working with AWS or other cloud providers.
• Experience with UI testing frameworks integrated with CI/CD pipelines.
• Taking responsibility for the performance and uptime of team services.
Nice-to-Have Skills:
• Experience working in an Agile environment.
• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced and dynamic work environment.
• Knowledge of GraphQL and REST Frameworks.
• Familiarity with NextJS / React 19.
• Exposure to CI/CD frameworks and tools (Github, K8s, CircleCI).
• Familiarity with A/B testing tools (LaunchDarkly).
• Knowledge of Analytics tools (Google Analytics, Segment).
Compensation: The base salary range is $110,000 to $120,000 plus benefits (medical, dental), equity, and discretionary bonuses. Compensation may vary based on location.
