About the Company:

This is a grassroots campaign for Collin Thompson, an educator and public servant running for New York City Council in District 5 (Upper East Side & Roosevelt Island). Job Description:

This is an unpaid remote internship offering hands-on experience in a political campaign. The ideal candidate is self-motivated, comfortable communicating with people, and passionate about New York City. The role focuses on the campaign’s digital field operation.

Key Responsibilities:

Conduct remote voter outreach: This involves phone banking and text banking to connect with voters.
Participate in team meetings: Regular Zoom meetings, trainings, and debriefs are part of the role.
Track and report outreach metrics: Monitoring and reporting on the success of outreach efforts.
Amplify campaign messaging: Sharing digital content and updates on social media and other platforms.
Support virtual volunteer events: Assisting in the organization and promotion of these events.
Support volunteer recruitment and training: Helping to onboard and train new volunteers.
Represent the campaign professionally: Maintaining a positive and enthusiastic attitude while interacting with voters and colleagues.

Qualifications:

Strong communication skills: A friendly and respectful demeanor is crucial for phone and text interactions.
Reliable internet access and equipment: A stable internet connection and access to a phone or computer are essential.
Passion for local politics and NYC’s future: A genuine interest in local government and improving the city.
Self-motivation and time management skills: Ability to work independently and manage one’s own schedule.
Experience with or willingness to learn phone and text banking tools: Prior experience is a plus, but training will be provided.
