About the Company: Autism Speaks is a non-profit organization focused on autism advocacy and support.
Job Description: Events Intern (Summer Semester)
This is a remote, 10-12 week internship offering academic credit for eligible students. The position is with the Development team and focuses on assisting with the planning and execution of events in New Jersey and Eastern Pennsylvania. The intern will report directly to the Director of Special Events.
Job Responsibilities: The intern will gain hands-on experience in various aspects of event planning, including:
• Event Logistics: Assisting with the logistical planning and execution of Walks, Partnership events, Luncheons, and Golf Outings across New Jersey and Eastern Pennsylvania.
• Event Planning: Contributing to the planning of kickoff events.
• Outreach and Stewardship: Supporting efforts to engage donors, sponsors, and volunteers.
• School Outreach: Assisting with outreach programs targeting schools.
• Marketing and Communications: Supporting area marketing and communications through email campaigns and social media content creation.
• Administrative Support: Providing administrative support and completing other assigned tasks.
Specific skills developed: The internship aims to provide working knowledge of key event skills, including developing event timelines, planning processes, and community outreach.
Location and Requirements: While remote, the ideal candidate must reside in New Jersey or Eastern Pennsylvania and have access to transportation for occasional in-person events or meetings. A flexible schedule of 20 hours per week during standard business hours is required.
Qualifications:
• Currently pursuing a bachelor’s degree.
