Gerdau is a major steel manufacturing company with operations in 10 countries and over 30,000 employees. Its North American divisions (Gerdau Long Steel North America and Gerdau Specialty Steel North America) produce long and special steel products for various markets including agriculture, energy, industrial, automotive, and manufacturing. G.Future Leadership Program – Job Description:
Gerdau’s G.Future program is an intensive 18-month leadership development program designed for recent college graduates. The program focuses on developing future managerial and technical leaders for the company.
Program Highlights:
• Intensive Training: The program combines on-the-job learning, classroom training, coaching, and mentorship from experienced Gerdau leaders.
• Problem-Solving: Participants will tackle both large and small-scale problems, including creating mechanical components/assembly drawings, proposing business optimization methods, and improving production standards. They will also work as leaders managing the strategic implementation of business goals.
• Mentorship: A unique mentorship program pairs participants with seasoned professionals to facilitate integration, understanding of Gerdau’s values and culture, and streamlined technical and business knowledge training.
• Industry Exposure: Participants will visit customers and suppliers to gain a comprehensive understanding of the business, work with all levels of Gerdau North America, and travel throughout the US and Canada. They will also network with other G.Future participants across North America.
• Skill Development: The program aims to develop managerial, interpersonal, analytical, and technical skills.
• Software Proficiency: Participants will work with software such as AutoCAD, AutoCAD Inventor, SAP, PLEX, and Excel.
Requirements:
• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering or a related field.
• Recent college graduate (within the last two years) – degree completed or in process of completion before the program starts.
• Minimum GPA of 2.5 (3.0 or higher preferred).
• Preference given to candidates with degree-related internship experience.
• Demonstrated leadership roles in student organizations or extracurricular activities.
• High learning agility and adaptability.
• Legal authorization to work in the United States without sponsorship.
• Willingness to travel extensively within the United States during the program.
