Job Description: Intern, Private Investments

Bender Equity is seeking a highly motivated intern to support their investment efforts and work closely with the Vice President, Private Investments. This internship offers hands-on experience across the entire investment cycle, from sourcing and due diligence to portfolio management and exit strategies. The intern will contribute to ongoing projects and initiatives related to Bender Equity’s portfolio companies and investment pipeline.

Primary Responsibilities:

• Conduct industry and company-specific research to support investment theme development and target identification.
• Assist in preparing internal investment materials, including opportunity summaries and due diligence documents.
• Maintain and update deal flow tracking systems and investment databases.
• Support financial modeling efforts and comparable company analyses under the guidance of senior team members.
• Participate in due diligence activities across various functional areas (e.g., financial, legal, HR, operations).
• Assist in preparing presentations for internal and external stakeholders, including investment committee decks and lender presentations.
• Contribute to the monitoring and reporting of key performance metrics across the portfolio.
• Support the VP and Managing Partner with project coordination and various ad hoc strategic initiatives.

Ideal Candidate Qualifications:

• Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Finance, Economics, Business, or a related field.
Strong interest in private equity, M&A, and business strategy.
Strong analytical, research, and problem-solving skills.
Familiarity with financial statements and basic valuation techniques.
Excellent communication and organizational skills.
• High level of integrity, professionalism, and curiosity.
Proficient in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint.
• Comfortable working independently and as part of a small, collaborative team.
