Software Engineering Internship Job Description:

This 12-week summer internship (May/June – early August 2025) in Atlanta, GA, offers a chance to contribute individually or within project teams within Cargill’s global Digital Technology & Data team. The work will focus on applying and building engineering skills in areas such as:

Cloud platform
Big data platform
Application development

The internship provides hands-on experience in real business situations, exposure to various Cargill businesses and functions, and mentorship from experienced professionals. Ongoing performance evaluations will be provided.

Responsibilities:

• Applying engineering skills to assigned projects.
• Contributing to the development of software solutions.
• Working collaboratively with team members.
• Participating in internship events to learn about Cargill’s diverse businesses.
• Completing other duties as assigned.

Compensation and Benefits:

• hourly rate: $28.00 – $32.00 (dependent on graduation date and full-time employment eligibility)

Required Qualifications:

• Legal right to work in the U.S. (not solely based on a student visa or third-party employer sponsorship)
• Currently pursuing a bachelor’s degree with a major or minor in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related technology discipline.
• Graduation date between December 2025 and Summer 2026.
• Geographic flexibility and willingness to relocate to Atlanta, GA for the internship.
• Ability to complete a 12-week internship during the summer.
• Ability to apply technical knowledge to job duties.
• High degree of initiative and resourcefulness.
• Ability to work effectively with diverse teams.
• Knowledge of basic structured programming, systems analysis and design, database design, and business concepts.
• Minimum 3.0 GPA.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Prior software engineering internship experience.
• Commercial product software development experience.
• Experience with agile development methodologies.
• Demonstrated analytical and technical skills.
• Strong prioritization, problem-solving, collaboration, communication, and information research skills.
