About The Role: Product Designer

Gap Inc. seeks a Product Designer to enhance the e-commerce user experience across its four brands. This role centers on the “top half” of the online shopping journey, encompassing mobile web, desktop web, and iOS/Android apps. Key responsibilities include:

• Designing and improving user interfaces for product discovery, including search, browsing, navigation, product listing pages (PLPs), and product detail pages (PDPs).
• Translating customer and business needs into effective and visually appealing designs across various platforms.
• Creating high-fidelity UI designs, design flows, and interactive prototypes in Figma, utilizing existing design system components and contributing to its evolution.
• Collaborating closely with Product Managers, Engineers, Researchers, and Brand stakeholders to ensure designs align with user needs and business goals.
• Implementing inclusive design principles and accessibility best practices.
• Contributing to the overall information architecture and product taxonomy to improve product discoverability.
• Participating in design critiques, user research, and cross-functional workshops.
• Fostering a culture of continuous improvement and collaboration within the design team.

Required Skills and Experience:

• Strong interaction and visual design skills, demonstrable through a portfolio showcasing thoughtful design for complex user flows and responsive interfaces.
• Expertise in designing complete digital experiences and creating polished prototypes using Figma (preferred).
• Familiarity with Lean UX and Test & Learn methodologies; ability to interpret user research, A/B testing, and analytics to inform design iterations.
• Understanding of product taxonomy, content hierarchy, and information architecture principles.
• Experience working in collaborative, cross-functional teams, effectively managing input from various stakeholders.
• Commitment to inclusive design and accessibility.
