Job Description: Safety Intern
Peckham Industries offers a paid internship program designed to provide practical experience relevant to a student’s field of study. The Safety Intern will assist and support the Safety Team on essential projects, gaining valuable career experience. Key responsibilities include:
• Reviewing and updating the safety program, LOTO (Lockout/Tagout) procedures, and SDS (Safety Data Sheet) online product inventory.
• Creating standard operating procedures (SOPs) adaptable to various locations.
• Developing electronic surveys and site-specific/hazard online training.
• Gaining experience in road construction, quarry, and plant field assessments.
Applicable Majors: Students pursuing a bachelor’s degree in safety and occupational health, or other relevant majors, are encouraged to apply.
Program Details:
• The internship is a ten-week program running from Monday, June 2, 2025, to Friday, August 8, 2025, with potential flexibility to accommodate student schedules.
• Interns are responsible for tracking their time using a company timecard and for their own housing and transportation.
• Required Application Materials: Completed applications must be submitted by Monday, May 5, 2025, and include a cover letter or paragraph outlining the student’s major and interests, a resume (including a LinkedIn profile, if applicable), and one written recommendation from a previous employer, teacher, or professor.
Requirements:
• Excellent attendance and punctuality.
• Strict adherence to safety protocols, OSHA rules and regulations.
• Current enrollment in an accredited college or university with a 3.0 GPA or higher.
• Proficient written and verbal English communication skills.
• Legal right to work in the U.S.
