Job Description: Construction Intern
Peckham Industries offers a paid internship program designed to provide practical experience within their “family by choice” culture. The Construction Intern will assist the Construction Team on essential projects, gaining valuable career experience. Key responsibilities include:
• Performing take-offs for bid preparation: This involves quantifying materials and labor needed for construction projects.
• Learning Bid2Win software: This is a crucial aspect of the bidding process in construction.
• Preparing bid submissions: Involves compiling and submitting proposals for projects.
• Assisting with market and bid analysis: Understanding market trends and competitor bids.
• Process and operating procedure improvement: Identifying and suggesting improvements to efficiency.
• Learning the operating process of a paving crew: Gaining firsthand experience in the field.
The internship is open to students majoring in Construction Management, various Engineering disciplines, and other relevant fields. The program runs for ten weeks, from Monday, June 2, 2025, to Friday, August 8, 2025, but flexibility is possible to accommodate student schedules.
Requirements:
• Excellent attendance and punctuality.
• Willingness to learn and follow all safety guidelines.
• A positive and productive attitude.
• Ability to contribute professional work in a timely and organized manner.
• Current enrollment at an accredited college or university with a 3.0 GPA or higher.
• Successful submission of an online application (including a cover letter, resume with LinkedIn profile (if applicable), and a letter of recommendation) by Monday, May 5, 2025.
• Proficient written and verbal English communication skills.
• Legal right to work in the U.S.
• Responsible for own housing and transportation.
• Strict adherence to all safety protocols and OSHA regulations.
