Job Description: 2025 Summer Internship (Personal Systems)
HP’s Personal Systems division is seeking highly motivated students for a 12-week paid summer internship. The program aims to provide a balance of real-world experience, networking opportunities, and professional development. Interns will work on significant projects, avoiding mundane tasks. The internship program includes networking events, executive speaker series, community involvement, and social activities.
Personal Systems Division Focus: The division operates around three pillars:
• Advancing Leadership in Computing: Developing laptops, desktops, business PCs, gaming PCs, Chromebooks, education-specific PCs, creator-specific PCs, and workstations. The pandemic highlighted the essential nature of PCs.
• Creating Leadership in Peripherals: Producing monitors, docks, webcams, keyboards, and mice. The focus is on creating immersive experiences through peripherals, noting that peripherals are refreshed more frequently than notebooks. This pillar includes the acquired companies HyperX (high-quality gaming gear) and Poly (4K video conferencing solutions).
• Expanding Digital Services: Addressing the increasing need for digital services in a hybrid work environment. HP’s unique position allows them to offer combined PC and print solutions, helping IT manage remote work challenges (onboarding, productivity, remote computing) through their acquisition of Teradici. This is supported by a strong focus on security and sustainability.
The overarching goal is to lead in hybrid work and gaming solutions by providing a full ecosystem experience encompassing PCs, peripherals, and services.
Education and Experience Requirements:
• Completion of the 3rd year of a Bachelor’s degree or the 1st year of a Master’s/MBA program. Non-technical degree specializations are typically accepted.
• Full-time enrollment at an accredited university.
• Ability to obtain work authorization in the United States in 2026 without requiring future sponsorship. (HP does not provide sponsorship assistance).
Preferred Majors/Programs: Business Administration, Business Strategy, Marketing, Product Management
Preferred Knowledge and Skills:
• Project experience demonstrating strong analytical, modeling, and research skills.
• Relevant coursework in business, economics, finance, or marketing.
• Strong executive-level presentation skills (storyboarding, development, and delivery).
• Success in delivering results within cross-functional teams.
• Ability to manage ambiguity and unstructured situations.
• Teamwork skills, including supporting others and leading through logical reasoning and relationship building.
• Strong public speaking and workshop/conversation facilitation skills.
• Ability to shape and influence the ideas and actions of others.
• Working knowledge of MS PowerPoint and MS Excel.
