Job Description: HR Internship (Summer 2024)

This is a paid, hybrid internship based in downtown Austin, TX, running from June 3rd to August 8th (40 hours/week). The internship requires a presence in the office Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays.

The internship offers hands-on experience across various HR functions:

HR Operations: This involves tasks such as data auditing for accuracy and compliance, general administrative support (filing, scanning, organizing), and creating/distributing a monthly wellness newsletter.

Talent Acquisition: Administrative support for employer branding and recruitment, including scheduling interviews, managing candidate communications, updating email templates, and maintaining applicant tracking systems.

Talent Management/Operations: Assisting with employee training and development programs, coordinating logistics for employee engagement events (team-building, social gatherings, recognition events), and collaborating on employee recognition programs (ordering/distributing swag, gifts, rewards). Onboarding support for new hires and updating/organizing job descriptions are also included.

Office Administration: Notifying managers of team birthdays/anniversaries, assisting with event planning/setup/cleanup (including intern events), and updating office monitors with business updates and employee spotlights.

Requirements:

• Currently pursuing a degree in Management, Human Resources, or Business Management.
• Strong creativity and problem-solving skills.
• Team-oriented and collaborative work style.
• Excellent communication skills (technical and non-technical audiences).
• Ability to maintain confidentiality with sensitive information.
• Proficiency in office computer programs (email, Google Docs, Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, Excel).

Essential Job Functions:

• Regular, on-time attendance.
• Effective communication.
• Ability to use office equipment (computer, copier, telephone).
• Ability to remain in a stationary position for extended periods.
