This internship opportunity is specifically within the Special Projects team at Microsoft Research Redmond, collaborating with applied science partners in Microsoft’s Experiences & Devices and Security organizations.
Job Description:
This is a Research Internship focused on the intersection of Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Security. The role is quantitative and involves improving Microsoft Security Copilot using cutting-edge methods from machine learning, natural language processing, and data science.
The research will investigate how AI is impacting knowledge work, examining what aspects are affected, the timeframe of these impacts, and how AI can maximize value creation. The intern will contribute to building security tools designed for human-AI collaboration. This necessitates methodological innovation in learning from data and translating these learnings into advancements across the entire AI stack – from model and system levels to application and user interaction.
Specific Responsibilities:
• Improving Microsoft Security Copilot using machine learning, natural language processing, and data science.
• Potentially innovating upon existing methods and drafting a manuscript for publication.
• Collaborating with mentors, other interns, and researchers.
• Presenting research findings.
• Contributing to the Microsoft Research community.
The internship is 12 weeks long and requires a physical presence at the Microsoft Redmond campus.
