Job Description: Email Marketing & Member Experience Intern

This is a project-driven, hybrid (primarily remote with some in-person requirements in the Twin Cities) internship lasting 8-10 weeks. The intern will play a crucial role in elevating Run Minnesota’s email marketing efforts and enhancing the member experience. The position offers a unique hands-on opportunity to learn and implement emerging technologies while contributing meaningfully to the organization’s success.

Responsibilities:

Membership Experience Redesign: Map and redesign the membership experience using smarter, personalized email communications.
Targeted Email Campaigns: Create email campaigns to guide members with diverse interests through the organization’s funnel, connecting them with relevant programs and initiatives.
CRM Automation & E-commerce: Test and improve automated email flows within the CRM (specific CRM not mentioned), and develop new campaigns for the e-commerce store.
Fundraising Campaign Support: Contribute to the development and execution of fundraising campaigns, crafting compelling content that highlights the organization’s value and mission.
Campaign Optimization: Support existing campaigns with fresh content and optimization strategies.
Data-Driven Improvement: Recommend and implement campaigns to improve data quality and enable better campaign personalization, incorporating new technologies, market trends, and community feedback.
Campaign Development: Assist with creative and operational aspects of email campaign development, from concept to completion.
Platform Proficiency: Learn and utilize relevant platforms (CRM, WordPress, Klaviyo, Adobe Creative Suite, Canva, etc. – experience preferred but not required).
AI Tool Exploration: Explore and potentially utilize AI tools (Jasper, Gemini, ChatGPT, etc.) for campaign development and optimization.
Team Collaboration: Participate in regular virtual meetings, providing updates on progress, and networking with key partners and the broader community at events.

Qualifications:

• Currently enrolled in a university or college degree program (marketing, communications, English, political science, business, or related field).
• Prior experience creating, delivering, or improving email marketing campaigns (class projects, coursework, etc.).
• Passion for running, health & wellness, or community building.
• Access to a laptop and reliable internet.
• Ability to attend in-person meetings and events in Minnesota.
• Self-motivated with a commitment to continuous improvement.
• Experience with CRMs, WordPress, Klaviyo, Adobe Creative Suite, Canva, or similar software (preferred, but not required).
• Interest and preferably some experience in using AI tools (preferred, but not required).

• $1,000 stipend upon successful completion.
