About the Company:

The Office of Administrative Trials and Hearings (OATH) is the largest administrative tribunal in the nation, conducting approximately 400,000 trials and hearings annually. As New York City’s central, independent administrative law court, OATH adjudicates a wide range of matters from nearly every city agency, board, and commission. OATH also includes the Center for Creative Conflict Resolution (offering mediation and restorative justice services) and the Administrative Judicial Institute (providing training and support for administrative law judges and hearing officers).

Job Description:

OATH’s Human Resources Recruitment and Employee Services team seeks a Summer College Intern to provide administrative support. Under the supervision of the Sr. Director of Recruitment and Employee Services and Recruitment Manager, the intern will assist with the recruitment process. Responsibilities include:

• Updating tracking documents.
• Scheduling in-person appointments for candidate paperwork processing.
• Organizing and reviewing candidate paperwork.
• Assisting with Traveling Personnel Folders (TPFs).
• Providing support during civil service hiring pools.
• Assisting OATH employees with HR inquiries (e.g., health benefits, employment verifications).

The internship offers experience in employee onboarding and services, exposing the intern to common HR operations and New York City’s specific HR policies. The internship is a 10-week in-person program (June 2, 2025 – August 8, 2025), requiring a minimum of 28 hours and a maximum of 35 hours per week. New York City residency is not mandatory, but commute to the office is required.
