Lightstone is a large, privately held real estate company based in New York City. They operate across 26 states, encompassing development, management, and investment in residential, hospitality, commercial, and retail real estate. With a portfolio exceeding $7.5 billion and including over 182 properties, their holdings comprise over 15 million square feet of industrial, logistics, life sciences, and commercial space; over 25,000 residential units; and over 4,400 hotel rooms. Currently, they have over $3.5 billion in residential and hospitality projects under development in major cities like New York City, Los Angeles, and Miami. Lightstone is launching a new real estate crowdfunding platform aimed at individual investors.
Job Description: Real Estate Crowdfunding Platform Summer Internship
This summer internship within Lightstone’s newly established Real Estate Crowdfunding Platform unit offers a unique opportunity to work directly with the Chief Growth Officer. The role is highly entrepreneurial and fast-paced, providing experience in a startup environment within a well-established company. The intern will contribute to various aspects of the platform’s launch, including:
Growth/Performance Marketing:
• Paid Advertising: Managing and optimizing paid search (SEM) and social media campaigns. Iterating on programmatic display ads, testing various elements (layout, copy, imagery). Leveraging third-party data for audience optimization.
• Organic Social Media: Building and growing the platform’s organic social media presence, supporting company stakeholders.
• Data Analysis: Monitoring and interpreting data from Google Analytics, Mixpanel, ahrefs, SparkToro, SimilarWeb, and other tools to identify trends and inform strategy. Assisting with data entry and report preparation.
Brand Strategy and Product Marketing:
• Brand Development: Testing and refining brand elements (visual identity, messaging) and ensuring brand consistency. Conducting market research, stakeholder validation, and focus groups to refine the brand strategy and understanding of ideal customer profiles (ICPs).
• AI Integration: Exploring the use of AI tools like ChatGPT, Claude, Relevance.ai, and Replit to enhance marketing efficiency and innovation.
UX and Conversion Optimization:
• Working with product personnel to understand customer behavior and improve the user experience (UX) and conversion funnel.
Reporting and Analytics:
• Monitoring key performance indicators (KPIs) and providing data-driven insights to support the team’s efforts.
Required Competencies and Experience:
• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Marketing, English, Business, or a related field (Master’s degree results in a higher hourly rate).
• Certifications in AI, UX design, digital marketing, design, or media are a plus.
• Strong analytical and quantitative skills. Basic understanding of front-end software development is beneficial.
• Passion for brand building, customer acquisition, and market share growth.
• Proficiency in Excel.
• Strong design thinking and an eye for digital aesthetics.
• Excellent verbal, written, and presentation skills.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively.
• Strong problem-solving skills.
Compensation: $30/hour for Bachelor’s degree candidates; $45/hour for Master’s degree candidates.
