About the Company:

The Chicago Transit Authority (CTA) is the second-largest transit system in the United States. Their college internship program offers both summer and year-long internships, providing students with valuable work experience, professional development, and mentorship. Interns gain exposure to various workplace disciplines and are guided by subject matter experts to develop the necessary skills for today’s demanding careers. Internships are project-based, spanning various departments within the authority.

Job Description:

This is a year-long (2025-2026) Human Resources internship within the Talent Acquisition unit at CTA Headquarters (567 W. Lake Street, Chicago, IL 60661). The internship is part-time (15 hours/week) during the school year and full-time (40 hours/week) during the summer.

Responsibilities:

• Assisting with the onboarding of new employees, including reviewing paperwork, ID measures, completing and creating new employee records.
• Reviewing resumes and providing recommendations for potential employees.

Qualifications:

Preferred Majors: Human Resources, Business Administration, or I/O Psychology.
Preferred Education Level: College junior and above.
Required Enrollment Status: Full-time enrollment in an accredited college or university.
Skills: Strong Microsoft Office and computer skills; excellent verbal and written communication skills; good analytical and critical thinking skills; proficient organizational skills with attention to detail; good project management skills.
Physical Requirements: Able to comply with office policy to work on-site twice per week; light physical activity (walking outdoors and climbing stairs).
