The General Counsel’s Organization (GCO) at American Express is seeking two summer interns for an eight-week program in their New York office. This is a temporary position and will not lead to a full-time role.
Job Description:
Interns will rotate through various legal teams, working on diverse projects across multiple business types and subject matter areas. The work will have a direct impact on the business. The internship also includes mentorship, professional development, and networking opportunities. Tasks may include:
• Legal research
• Document review
• Data analysis
• Contract work
• Identifying legal and regulatory developments
Minimum Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s degree and one year of progress (as of Summer 2025) towards a J.D. at an accredited U.S. law school.
• Interest in the payments industry and/or in-house legal practice.
• Availability to work three days a week in the New York office for eight weeks.
