Job Description: TCU BEST Summer Internship (Virtual)
Sandia National Laboratories’ Energy and Homeland Security Program offers a virtual summer internship program, TCU BEST (Business Enablers in Science & Technology), specifically for students enrolled at Tribal Colleges and Universities (TCUs). Interns will be part of the Integrated Business and Program Management Solutions organization, supporting various business needs of the Laboratories.
Responsibilities:
Interns will collaborate with teams to support Sandia’s mission by:
• Adding value and improving operations.
• Developing innovative solutions.
• Appropriately managing risk for the corporation.
Work will be assigned within specific Sandia organizations supporting various business functions, including:
• Financial management
• Project management
• Procurement/supply chain
• Quality assurance
• Human resources
• Communications
• Technical business development
The program includes:
• A primary work assignment (matrix assignment).
• Onboarding meetings.
• Potential group projects.
• Networking events.
• Other business-related activities.
Duration: 10-14 weeks during the summer. A one-week trip to Sandia’s Albuquerque location may be required.
Team: Center 8100, Integrated Business and Program Management Solutions, delivers professional business operations to enhance mission execution excellence for Division 8000. They lead strategy development, program management, customer engagement, and quality assurance for the Energy and Homeland Security Program Portfolio.
Partnership: This internship program is part of the MSI Partnership Program (MSIPP), designed to strengthen collaborations with Minority Serving Institutions (MSIs) and create career pathways within the nuclear security enterprise.
